Novaday ("the app", previously published as Gün Gün) is developed by Yusuf Şirin ("we"). The app has no accounts and no servers of ours, and we never receive the content you create. Contact: [email protected].

Data you create

Countdowns, memories, notes, character choices and settings are stored on your device, and reminders are scheduled locally. The AI note writer runs entirely on your device; only the model file is downloaded once from a public model repository (Hugging Face), which receives your IP address as part of that download. Deleting the app removes this data from the device.

Backups and sharing

Exports, and iCloud backups on iOS, go only to storage you choose and are not accessible to us. Your device's own system backup (Apple iCloud device backup, Android Auto Backup) may also include the app's local data under Apple's or Google's terms; you can turn this off in your device settings. When you share something from the app, it goes wherever you send it and is no longer covered by this policy.

Advertising (free version)

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. Where required by law, Google's User Messaging Platform asks for your consent before any ad is requested, and the app's settings show "Ad Privacy Choices" for changing that answer later. On iOS you are also asked for App Tracking Transparency permission; if you decline, or before you answer, the app does not access your iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) and every ad is requested as non-personalized. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device's Settings › Privacy › Ads (on some devices Settings › Google › Ads); once it is deleted, ads can no longer be personalized with it. The app works the same either way.

To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may process a device or advertising identifier, an approximate location derived from your IP address, ad-interaction data and diagnostic data; this may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Non-personalized ads still use some of this data for frequency capping, reporting and fraud prevention. Under some US state privacy laws, showing personalized ads may count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information; declining tracking, deleting your Android advertising ID, or withdrawing consent in "Ad Privacy Choices" opts you out. See Google's privacy policy and Google's advertising partner disclosure. Your countdowns, notes and memories are never shared with advertisers.

Novaday + removes all ads. Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play; we never receive your payment details.

Usage statistics (optional)

Only if you agree, Novaday sends usage statistics to PostHog (EU cloud), our analytics provider: which screens are opened, which steps of the introduction and which features are used (for example creating a countdown, sharing, backing up, choosing a character or an AI model), when the app is opened, how many days ago it was first opened (a number, not a date), how many countdowns you have (a number), whether you own Novaday +, from where the Novaday + screen is opened and how long it stays open, purchase results, which locally assigned version of the Novaday + screen is shown in a design comparison (experiment identifier and variant), its first entry point and whether the store price is ready, and errors (type and stack trace, never the error message). Novaday asks once, on first launch (or on the first launch after an update that adds this question), and nothing is collected until you choose Share statistics. Events never contain your countdown names, dates, notes, memories or messages. They use a random identifier generated on your device, which groups events from the same installation. This is pseudonymous data, not fully anonymous data; we do not add your name, email address or advertising identifier, create person profiles, or combine it with advertising data. PostHog also receives standard device details (app version, device model and manufacturer, operating system version, screen size, language, time zone, network type and, on Android, the mobile carrier name and the system's user-agent string). Location enrichment is disabled and IP addresses are not stored with events. You can change your choice at any time in Profile & Settings → Usage statistics; turning statistics off stops collection and resets the identifier. This separates future events from the earlier identifier; it does not delete events already received. PostHog acts as our processor under a data processing agreement that requires the same level of protection as this policy, and keeps events for up to one year, after which they are deleted. We do not keep a mapping from the random identifier to your name or email. If you ask about your analytics data, we may need additional information that allows us to locate it; we will explain if we cannot identify the relevant records. We rely on your consent. See the PostHog Privacy Policy.

Your choices

Edit or delete your content in the app, delete the app to remove its local data, manage backups in your own cloud account, change or withdraw ad consent as described above, and turn usage statistics on or off in Profile & Settings. We hold no copy of your countdowns, notes or memories. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive a copy of personal data, object to its processing, and withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. To request deletion or exercise these rights, email [email protected] and describe your request; where necessary, we will ask for information to identify the relevant records without collecting more than needed. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Rights over advertising data held by Google can be exercised as described in its privacy policy. If you email us, we use your email address and message to respond and keep the correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request or meet legal obligations.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age where you live), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

Updates to this policy are published at this address with a new effective date.
